The 13th National Seed Congress 2024 (NSC 2024)

The National Seed Congress 2024 (NSC 2024) is an annual confluence of researchers, policymakers, the private sector, the public sector, farmers, and other stakeholders to deliberate on strategies, approaches and pathways to revitalize the seed system in India and beyond. With the theme “Fostering Regional Cooperation, Partnership, and Knowledge Exchange in the Seed Sector”, NSC 2024 provides a platform for presenting experiences and insights on the research advances, innovations, and principles related to seeds, crop improvement, and seed delivery systems.

NSC 2024 aims to catalyze scientific progress by facilitating the exchange of ideas, promoting interdisciplinary research, and inspiring the scientists of the future. It addresses pressing global challenges, offering insights and solutions that can influence policy change, technological innovations, and sustainable development.

"I am delighted to invite you all to the National Seed Congress 2024, which will be held in Varanasi from 28 to 30 November 2024 organized by IRRI South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in partnership with National Seed Research & Training Centre (NSRTC). Through this mega event, we look forward to welcome diverse practioners, researchers, policy makers and professionals across the crop improvement, seed production, commercialisation, distribution and scaling sector; with the objective of building robust seed systems in India. With the theme for this year’s National Seed Congress 2024 being: "Fostering Regional Cooperation, Partnership, and Knowledge Exchange in the Seed Sector”, this event is of special significance to IRRI, as we strive towards regional cooperation in all our research and development efforts and extend our invitations to regional and global stakeholders.

With almost six decades of experience and positive relationship in India through our association with the NARES partners, and robust history and impact of seed system research and delivery; IRRI has been able to leave an indelible mark in transforming the agricultural sector in India and ISARC being a proud legacy holder, aim to take this goal ahead."

"National Seed Research and Training Centre (NSRTC), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare, the apex body to maintain the uniformity in seed testing results and human resource development at national level is proud to be the co-organiser for organizing the 13th National Seed Congress 2024. An annual congregation of stakeholders from the seed sector, the event is of great significance for NSRTC as we build strong seed systems in India for transforming the country’s agricultural sector into a resilient and more reliable sector for the future.

Through the deliberations that take place during the NSC 2024, we hope that we will be able to delve deeper into the needs and requirements of our farming community, understand the need of the hour to come up with technically innovative solutions.
